Ghana means “Warrior King,” and in the Volta Region in Eastern Ghana, home to the Ewe people that this program works with, volunteers will be welcomed as family and friends. Their economy is highly dependent on fishing and farming and because of this, professional opportunities are limited and affordable schools are minimal. Volunteers participate in care-giving (for children and those with disabilities), teaching, healthcare and community development. A volunteer trip consists of 1-12 weeks abroad and an intern trip is 5-12 weeks. Additionally, programs are available for teens and a short "insight abroad" trip is available for adults as well. This 7 day trip costs $2,604 per person.
