RWANDA: Teach Literacy

The effects of genocide in Rwanda have been devastating, leaving hundreds of schools destroyed and students lack everything from books to basic school equipment.  Here volunteers will have the opportunity to become immersed in Rwanda’s culture while making a lasting impact in the community. Rwanda’s Literacy Program is designed to improve the country’s school system as volunteers work alongside teachers helping teach numerous subjects. Volunteers are not required to have a teaching certificate or other qualification, but experience in subject areas (math, English, science, etc.) is a plus.  Volunteers must have intermediate fluency or understanding of French for this trip. Volunteers must apply and be accepted for this trip. The min length for this trip is 2 weeks for $1,597 and the max length is 8 weeks for $2,397. Departures are based on application approvals.
