SOUTH AFRICA: Seeking Volunteer Conservation Photographers

Volunteer photographers will be working on raising conservation awareness in local South African communities through conservation research, hands-on conservation efforts, and by helping to create a photographic database.  The research and database are the core of this trip, and volunteers will be building on the database’s contents, gathered by previous volunteers and researchers.  By the end of the trip, volunteers will be able to recognize and name local flora and fauna, increased conservation awareness, and have greatly improved their photography skills.  The trip includes a short photography course and work alongside professional photographers as they capture African wildlife on film.  Volunteers of this project will stay on the Thanda game reserve, a reserve the spans more than 14,000 hectares and is home to a variety of rare wildlife. Must bring own photography equipment (SLR digital camera with at least an 18-55 mm lens (100-400 mm recommended), battery charger, 8GB memory card, and a tripod.)
